The movement of light in the landscape, whether altered by the environment or through my vision while I am transient is most interesting to me.  A changing event in nature, regardless of the cause, is what I pursue with my work.

My goal in painting expressive landscapes is to introduce a space for the viewer to reconnect with his or her individual history. We each have a sensual history that can be sparked frequently throughout our present state, yet for many people the least evocative of the senses is sight.

By painting from my memory, I instantly distort fact.  I have little or no vision to guide me, but I use other senses to help develop the painting: temperature, emotion, sound, smell etc.

I hope to present a space that at once may deny a sense of reasoning yet connect the viewer to his or her history in the landscape.
