Nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in January of 2009, bestselling author and humanitarian Greg Mortenson has dedicated his life to promoting peace through education. His acclaimed novel, “Three Cups of Tea,” spent more than 100 weeks on The New York Times bestseller list and was named Time magazine’s “Asia Book of the Year.” He is also the co-founder of Pennies for Peace and the Central Asia Institute, a non-profit organization promoting community-based education in remote regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan. You’re encouraged to read “Three Cups of Tea” before attending the lecture.
