Education
Prevention
Education is provided with the assistance of
the DREAM Team (Drug Related Education and Awareness
Mentoring Team), a student organization whose
focus is health education. Prevention education
is focused primarily on the following two areas:
Alcohol/
Drug Abuse Prevention Education is available to students, faculty,
and staff to increase awareness of the negative consequences of
substance abuse and to assist in making responsible decisions in
regards to alcohol and other drug use. Alcohol/drug abuse referral
assistance is provided to students through the Student Counseling
Center to locate treatment settings that will accommodate individual
needs.
Date Rape/Sexual Assault Prevention Education is also available
to students, faculty, and staff to increase awareness of the negative
consequences of rape supportive beliefs and to increase awareness
of ways to handle a rape situation. Counseling for victims of any
type of sexual assault is available to students through the Student
Counseling Center.
