Undergraduate Admissions
UT Tyler Second Baccalaureate
To earn a second baccalaureate degree from UT Tyler, the student must complete the requirements for the second major; six hours of U.S. History, three hours of Texas government and three hours of U.S. Government (if not taken as part of the first degree); and satisfy any lower-level requirements for the second degree. A second baccalaureate degree requires the completion of a minimum of 30 hours of resident credit in addition to the hours required for the first degree.
Application
Submit a completed undergraduate undergraduate application for admission.
Application Fee
A non-refundable $60 application fee is required for U.S. citizens and permanent residents. A non-refundable $75 international application fee is required for all non-U.S. citizens. Applications will not be processed without the application fee.
Transcripts
Official transcripts are required from each college or university attended. Baccalaureate degree verification is required. Photocopies and faxed transcripts will not be considered for final admission. Course work from one college posted on the transcript of another college will not be considered for final admission. Transcripts more than 60 days old from the print date will be considered unofficial.
Major
A second baccalaureate student must declare a major upon application; undecided and no degree sought are not an option for the second bach student.
Graduate level courses
Second baccalaureate students are not allowed to enroll in graduate level courses.
Honors
Second baccalaureate students are not eligible for the Dean's List or the President's Honor Roll. In addition, second baccalaureate students are not eligible to graduate with honors.
