Transient Admission

Students pursuing degrees at other colleges and universities who wish to take courses at The University of Texas at Tyler may be admitted as a transient student . If you are not a current student at another college or university, you are not eligible for transient admission at UT Tyler. A transient application is valid for one year.

Transient students remain on a transient hold while at UT Tyler.

A transient student who later wishes to be admitted to The University of Texas at Tyler on a regular basis must apply for admission as a transfer or graduate student and meet all admission requirements. Students who are admitted are immediately subject to the UT Tyler's academic regulations.

Application: Submit a completed transient application for admission.

Application Fee: A non-refundable $40 application fee is required for U.S. citizens and permanent residents. A non-refundable $50 international application fee is required for all non-U.S. citizens. Applications will not be processed without the application fee.

Transient Approval Form: Complete the entire transient approval form. Incomplete forms cannot be processed.  Contact the Enrollment Services Center, 903.566.7180, to verify receipt of form and/ or course registration.

Prerequisites: If the course you desire to take has prerequisites, you must supply a copy of an official transcript showing where you have met the requirements. Check the UT Tyler Catalog for prerequisites.
