Carol S. Gilliland, M.A. -- Academic Advisor

Hello, Patriots!

My name is Carol Gilliland. I've been an academic advisor for over ten years. I have a Master's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (speech, journalism, and English) from The University of Texas at Tyler. I also have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a second major in Radio/Television/Film from Stephen F. Austin State University.

I'm married with two "kids" -- a Siamese named Priscilla and a Pomeranian named Theodore Elvis Behr (Ted E). My husband and I are active in the student ministry and media ministry programs at The Woods Baptist Church here in Tyler.

As an advisor, my primary responsibility is working with freshmen who are majoring in communication (speech or journalism) as well as students pursuing a degree in health science, natural science, nursing, or math. I also work with incoming student-athletes.
