Lauralee Boudreau -- Academic Advisor

I am so happy to now be a part of the Academic Advising Team here at UT Tyler! I look forward to getting to know and working with all of you. I first came to UT Tyler in August of 2008 as an Academic Advisor for the College of Arts and Sciences, so I have relatively short tenure here. In that short time, however, I have been so impressed with all that UTT has to offer, most notably the awesome people who work here!
Prior to coming to UT Tyler, I’ve done a variety of things. I most recently worked at Pollard United Methodist church as the Director of Children’s Ministries. I did this job for almost six years and it was a wonderful way to utilize my background in education. Before this, I was home with my children. (More about them in a minute!) Previous to this I was employed locally at Mother Frances Hospital as the Compensation Manager. During my 11 years at the hospital, I not only managed the compensation program, but I also did extensive management training, employment interviewing and hiring and nurse recruitment. While in graduate school, I was employed as a Graduate Assistant where I taught developmental classes for students coming in on probation. Finally, my first “real” job was to travel nationally for my collegiate sorority. This opportunity took me from Oregon to Maine working with college students in many different capacities. It was this experience that convinced me that I wanted to work in the academic setting again with college students - it just took me a while to get here!
As I mentioned above, I have two children, both girls, who are the light of my life! Abby is 11 (“almost 12”, as she says) and she is my piano and basketball player. Gracie, the 9-almost-10-year-old, is my dancer whose favorite thing about school is homework! We love to spend time together, play with our dogs, travel as the chances arise, have spelling contests at dinner (nerdy, I know!) and shop, of course!
I graduated from Texas A & M University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a Special Education certification. I obtained my Master of Arts in Human Relations and Supervision in 1987 from Louisiana Tech University.
