Art Minor

Art may be chosen as a minor to satisfy bachelor degree requirements in other fields. For a minor in art, 18 hours in art are required, nine of which must be advanced upper level art courses. Courses are selected in consultation with an art advisor. All art majors should have a degree plan completed during your first year at UT Tyler. Completion of the degree plan is initiated by completing the degree plan declaration form available in the art office.

Declared art majors are assigned an advisor after the 12th class day each fall and spring semester. Advising assignments will be posted in the Art Studios; students may also contact the art office to find out who there assigned advisor is. The advisor completes the student's degree plan after the degree plan declaration form is returned.

After your degree plan is completed, a copy will be mailed to you at the address included on the degree plan declaration form.

Advisors complete degree plans during these times:
Fall Semester: September 1st – November 15th
Spring Semester: February 1st-April 15th

Students should make an appointment with their assigned advisor should they have questions about their degree plan or course of study although an appointment is not necessary for the completion of a degree plan.
