Visiting
Team Information
The athletic
training staff here at UT Tyler welcome you to our venues during your
visit to compete against our teams. All efforts will be made to accommodate
your athletic training needs while you are our guest here at UT Tyler.
The athletic training
facility will be available to your team prior, during, and
after the competition here at UT Tyler. The
athletic training facility is located on the first floor of the
Herrington Patriot Center, in room HPC 1045. Please contact
a UT Tyler staff member at (903) 565-5545 in advance so that
arrangements can be made to provide the full services of the athletic
training facility to your athletes.
Water, cups, ice,
hand towels and biohazard supplies will be made available during the
competition to each of our visiting teams. Student
athletic trainers and an LAT and/or ATC will be on-site for all events
here at UT Tyler.
The following therapeutic modalities are available at UT Tyler:
• Whirlpool
• Hydrocollator
• Ultrasound
• Muscle stimulation
• Intermittent compression
It is requested that a
letter from the visiting team's athletic trainer outlining the current treatment
plan of each athlete be provided to the staff at UT Tyler at the time treatment
is to be administered. No treatment other
than ice
packs will
be administered
without this letter. We welcome all athletic trainers accompanying their
team during their visit
here
at UT Tyler and are glad to provide full access to our facility for them.
ASC guidelines for providing athletic training services for visiting
teams will be followed by the UT Tyler athletic training staff during
conference competition.
Emergencies
Should
an emergency occur at UT Tyler, patients will be transported to either
East Texas Medical Center, Mother Frances Hospital or The University
of Texas Health Center at Tyler.
It is the policy of UT Tyler not to provide private or university transportation
for individuals to emergency care facilities. Ambulance
transportation will be requested for individuals to emergency care
facilities if needed.
