Crusaders Use 8-Run Third Inning to Silence Patriots 12-7
February 6, 2010

TYLER – Senior outfielder Joseph Villegas was one of five Mary Hardin-Baylor players to record multiple hits, getting a leadoff double as part of an 8-run third inning that moved him into first all-time on the school's career hit list and helped propel the Crusaders to a 12-7 win over host UT Tyler on a chilly Saturday evening at Irwin Field.

Mary Hardin Baylor (3-1) scored all 12 of its runs in the second and third innings, including pounding out 10 of their 14 hits, in rebounding from a walk-off loss to UT-Dallas in the previous game and finishing the 2nd Annual Clements Fluids Easton Classic with a 2-1 record. More to come>>>

Late Inning Rally Comes Up Short in Season-Opening Loss to UMHB
February 5, 2010

TYLER – Playing its 2010 season-opener on Friday night at Irwin Field, host UT Tyler rallied from an 8-3 deficit with five runs over the final four innings, thanks in large part to a two-run homer from Cody Jones in the bottom of the 8th, but a strikeout from Seth Lynn with two runners on in the ninth sealed a 9-8 victory for visiting Mary Hardin-Baylor.

Jones, a senior transfer from ETBU, went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and a two-run home run to left in his UT Tyler debut and four other Patriots recorded multi-hit games, but it wasn't enough as the Crusaders took the opening game of the 2nd Annual Clements Fluids Easton Classic. More>>>
