Tryout Qualifications
Individuals wishing to tryout for the squad must first meet these qualifications:
- Applicants who are UT Tyler students during the semester of the tryout process must be enrolled in 12 or more hours with a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher. Applicants must also be considered full-time students at UT Tyler. Applicants may not be placed on the squad until they have met the squad member academic requirement of a cumulative UT Tyler grade point average of 2.0 or higher and a semester grade point average of 2.0 or higher.
- Applicants who are transfer students or high school students without a grade point average from UT Tyler must submit their transcript from their last school (university, junior college, or high school) and must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher. A copy of their acceptance (conditional) letter to UT Tyler must also be submitted.
- Applicants must not graduate before May 2011 and must be available for the entire term of squad duties extending from May 2010 through and including May 2011.
- Applicants MUST be able to attend pre-camp activities, summer camp, and Post-camp practices and activities.
- Applicants must submit the squad application and a $15.00 cheer tryout fee and $20.00 dance tryout fee by the deadline.
- Graduate students may tryout for a squad.
All individuals who desire to be on the squad, even those who have been on the squad before, must tryout each year.
