Cross Country Wins Again

The UT Tyler men's and women's cross country teams both took first-place finishes Saturday at the LeTourneau Cross Country Invitational in Longview.

Competing against UT Dallas, Concordia, University of Dallas, ETBU and LeTourneau, the Patriots' women were paced by Charity Bolling who finished in third place and covered the 6K course in a time of 25:46. In addition to Bolling, UT Tyler placed three other runners in the top ten - Lindsey Deal (6th/27:00), Tiffany Ayala (7th/28:38) and Joanna Beers (8th/28:44).

The men were also victorious, winning their fourth meet of the season, as they outpaced second place UT Dallas. UT Tyler was led by Ben Donnan who finished the 4.7 mile course in 25:43. The men dominated with a team score of 16, just a point shy of the highest possible score in a cross country meet. Individually, the Patriots placed seven of the top ten runners, including R.J. Cowan (2nd/26:37), Warren Brown (3rd/26:39), Corey Kellam (4th/26:57) and Bojan Kajtaz (6th/27:17).

The Patriots' best-ever season concludes next weekend at the Ameican Southwest Conference Championships at Mississippi College.
