Cowan Named ASC Runner of the Week

Sophomore R.J. Cowan of The University of Texas at Tyler was named the American Southwest Conference Male Runner of the Week for Sept. 6-11, the conference office announced today.

Cowan (Whitehouse, Texas/Whitehouse HS) set the school and 8K course record with a first-place time of 26:28 at Saturday's UT Tyler Invitational. It is the fastest 8K time in the ASC this fall.

Cowan also led the Patriots to the men's team title at the event. UT Tyler has won both meets in which it has competed this year.
