Men and Women Sweep Cross Country Invitational

The University of Texas at Tyler men's and women's cross country teams cruised to easy victories in the teams' only home meets of the year Saturday on the UT Tyler campus.

UT Tyler men's runners took eight of the top ten spots as Warren Brown led the pack with a 26:09 first place finish. Ben Donnan (26:27), R.J. Cowan (26:35), Bojan Kajtaz (27:30) and Jeff Chandler (27:59) finished second through fifth, respectively, for the Patriots.

UT Tyler finished with 15 team points, followed by Texas-Dallas (72) and University of Dallas.

On the women's side, Sarah Hankla in second place(24:53), Jessica Beers in third (25:54) and Lindsey Moore taking fourth (26:01) were the top UT Tyler finishers. UD's Angela Cuba (24:20) was the top women's finisher.

The UT Tyler women's 29 points earned them the top spot, followed by UD (36) and Texas-Dallas (66).

The Patriots return to action Sept. 20 at the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawk Invitational.
