The University of Texas at Tyler cross country teams capped their second and most successful season to date with strong finished at the American Southwest Conference championship meet at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin Saturday. Four Patriots men’s runners finished the race in the top 25, including freshman R.J. Cowan’s fourth place finish in a time of 28:08. Tyler Barlow finished in 12th place (30:34), Chauncey Deller in 23rd place (32:50) and Bryan Barnett in the 24th spot (32:57). Overall, the UT Tyler men finished in fourth place with 90 points. Mississippi College won the men’s division with 37 points and paced by the first place finish of Matthew Manning (27:27) and the second place finish of Bradon Cook (28:02). The UT Tyler women also finished the conference meet in fourth place overall, paced by a ninth place mark from senior runner Charity Bolling in a time of 26:21 in the 6K race. Kristy Albee finished in 14th place for the Patriots in a time of 27:08 followed by Svetlana Popova’s 30th place, 30:07 finish. Host Texas Lutheran won the women’s division with 38 points. TLU’s Samara Williams finished the course in 24:44 to top the women’s individual standings. ASC Championships Men’s
