Men’s Golf Moves to 3rd in Golfstat Rankings

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – One day after winning the UT Dallas Spring Invitational, the University of Texas at Tyler’s men’s golf team moved up one spot, from fourth to third, in the latest Division III Head-to-Head Standings published by Golfstat on Wednesday morning.

The Patriots are now just six points behind No. 1 Methodist and just one point behind No. 2 Redlands. UT Tyler has won two tournaments this year and is 9-3 against Top 25 teams.

Other ASC schools in the Top 25 of the latest Golfstat poll are Texas Lutheran at 18th and Mary-Hardin Baylor at 24th.

Currently, the Patriots are also 9th in the latest Golf World/NIKE Golf Coaches Poll which is published by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Both UT Tyler golf teams will return to the links on April 13 at the Pinecrest Country Club in Longview for the 2008 LeTourneau Invitational. The tournament will be both teams final tune-up before the ASC Championships on April 20 in Anna, Texas.
