Women’s Golf Easily Handles LeTourneau in Dual Match

LONGVIEW, Texas -- The University of Texas at Tyler women’s golf team handily defeated LeTourneau in a dual match on Saturday afternoon at the Pinecrest Country Club in Longview, 361-387.
Sophomore Courtney Kruppa (New Braunfels, Texas) and freshman Jordan Woodruff (Gladewater, Texas) each shot an 88 to finish tied for second and lead UT Tyler to the 26 stroke win. Freshman Katie Harris, (Salado, Texas) and sophomore Amber Grounds (Whitesboro, Texas) rounded out the scoring for the Patriots with a 91 and a 94, respectively. Harris finished in fourth in the match and Grounds tied for sixth.
In individual play, freshman Kasey Boykin (Bryan, Texas) finished fifth with a 92, while freshman Cara Cline (Burleson, Texas) tied for sixth with a 94.
Freshman Leslie Lee of LeTourneau won the match by shooting a 79.
UT Tyler will return to Pinecrest on April 13 to participate in the 2008 LeTourneau Invitational. The three-day event will be the final tournament for the Patriots before the ASC Championships on April 20 in Anna, Texas.
