Jennings in 9th at Men’s Golf Nationals

BRASELTON, GA. – UT Tyler junior Brian Jennings is tied for 9th place after the first day of play in the 2008 Division III Men’s Golf National Championships at the Château Elan Resort in Braselton.

Jennings reached the tournament as just one of five individual qualifiers from all of Division III.

Jennings finished the 7,030 yard, Par 71 Château course at +2 on the day. He birdied on holes one, four, and fifteen. Holes one and four were Par 4, while Hole No. 15 was a Par 5. Jennings finished the day with three birdies, 10 pars and five bogies.

The junior from Bullard will move to the Par 72, 6,735 yard Woodlands course on Wednesday where he will tee off from Hole No. 1 at 7:39 am EDT.

After Wednesday’s round, the field will be trimmed to the top 23 teams and the top five individuals not on the 23 qualifying teams. Play for Thursday’s 3rd round and Friday’s final round will move back to the Château course.
