Weasby Named ASC East Player of The Week

RICHARDSON, Texas--Senior Brandon Weasby (Houston, Texas) has been named the American Southwest Conference East Division Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played February 11-17, 2008.

Weasby was integral part of the Patriots’ 2-0 week, which included the team’s sixth and seventh consecutive victories. Weasby averaged 21 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists on the week, while shooting 53 percent from the floor, 71 percent from 3-point range and 88 percent from the free throw line. On Thursday at LeTourneau, Weasby went 7-of-10 from the floor, including 5-for-6 from behind the arch and went a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line. Exactly 50 percent of Brandon’s points for the week came from the charity stripe.

Weasby and the rest of the Patriots will travel to Louisiana College on Thursday for the first of their final two regular season games of the year. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
