D3Kicks.com Name Patriot Pair to Team of the Week

University of Texas at Tyler junior midfielder Michael Kendall (Houston, Texas) and freshman forward  Leah Solomon (Schertz, Texas) have been named to the D3Kicks.com Team of the Week for games played between October 15 and October 21.

Kendall played a key part is last week’s shutouts over LeTourneau and East Texas Baptist, scoring a combined three goals and adding an assist.  Kendall had a total of 11 shots last week, with nine of the shots going on goal.  The Patriot midfielder had a pair of goals against LeTourneau and a goal and an assist versus ETBU.  Kendall leads the Patriots with nine goals and 22 points on the season. 

Solomon was also an integral part of her team’s wins last weekend over the same opponents.  Solomon recorded a goal and two assists in the Patriots 5-1 win over LeTourneau and added a goal in their 5-2 defeat of East Texas Baptist.  Solomon now has three goals and four assists on the season, with two of each coming this past weekend.

Kendall, Solomon and the rest of both UT Tyler squads will travel to Austin on Saturday. The Patriots will meet Concordia (Tex.) in an American Southwest match to close out their 2007 regular season.  The women’s game will begin at 1 p.m. with the men following at 3 p.m.
