Brittain Leads UT Tyler to Non-Conference Win
September 10, 2007
For the second straight game, junior midfielder Cole Brittain scored the game-winning goal for the UT Tyler men's soccer team. Tonight, the Patriots downed Southwestern, 1-0, at the Citizens 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex.
Brittain scored the game's only goal in the 14th minute with a header past Southwestern keeper Ryan Tasin. Freshman Eric Oakley provided the assist for Brittain, setting him up on free kick from the right side.
Overall, Southwestern outshot UT Tyler 15-8, but UT Tyler keeper Geoff Sherman blocked all three Southwestern shots on goal.
UT Tyler's only other shot on goal game from Todd Burke.
UT Tyler improves to 2-1-1 and beings conference play this weekend with road games at Ozarks and Texas-Dallas.
