Ozarks Hands Men’s Soccer Conference Loss

CLARKSVILLE, Ark. - Nate Abbott’s game-winning goal in the 66th minute propelled Ozarks to a 1-0 victory over UT Tyler on Friday afternoon in Clarksville, Ark.
After a back-and-forth first half, the Eagles rallied in the final 45 minutes of action to gain control of the match. Ozarks outshot the Patriots 8-2 in the second half and finished the game with a 17-13 advantage.
UT Tyler drops to 2-2-1 overall and 0-1 in ASC play. Ozarks is now 5-1 and 1-0 in the ASC.
Cole Brittain led the unsuccessful offensive effort for UT Tyler, with two shots, both of which were on goal. Michael Kendall attempted three shots.
For Ozarks, Abbott scored on his only shot of the game, nailing one from 25 yards out to give Ozarks’ the win.
In goal, Geoff Sherman played all 90-minutes for the Patriots, making four saves and allowing one goal.
UT Tyler plays UT Dallas at 7 p.m. Sunday in Richardson.
