Men's Soccer Drops 2-0 Decision to UTD

Two first-half goals by UT Dallas' Mihai Cotet gave the Comets a 2-0 win over UT Tyler on Sunday, keeping the Patriots winless in American Southwest Conference play.

UT Tyler falls to 2-3-1 overall and 0-2 in the ASC.

Cotet scored for UTD just over three minutes in on corner kick from Miguel Garcia, and again at 22:49 of an assist from Jarrod Payne.

The two early goals didn't slow the Patriots down as they attempted a total of 24 shots during the game, including 17 in the second half, and 11 shots on goal.

Cole Brittain, Matt Frost, and Michael Kendall combined for 14 of the Patriots' shots, and gave UTD keeper Jake Brandon a workout with five shots on goal.

The Patriots were roughed up by a UT Dallas squad that committed 20 fouls to the Patriots seven.

UT Tyler continues ASC play, hosting Louisiana College at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Citizens 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex.
