Men’s Soccer Shuts-out TLU, 3-0

The University of Texas at Tyler men’s soccer team used a fist-half offensive onslaught to shut-out Texas Lutheran, 3-0, Thursday night at the Citizens 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex.
The win moves UT Tyler to 4-0-3 in the American Southwest Conference and 5-2-3 on the season.
The night belonged to junior midfielder Tony Guillen (Longview, Texas), who scored one goal and assisted on the Patriots two others.
UT Tyler’s first goal came courtesy of Guillen who found the back of the net just over two minutes into the game. That goal was unassisted.
Guillen setup Brandon Warren in the 41st minute to give the Patriots a 2-0 lead and at 45:29, Michael Kendall scored off an assist from Guillen.
UT Tyler outshot TLU 15-5. Guillen led the Patriots with three shots and all three of those were on-goal.
In goal, Mark Oliphant made two saves for the Patriots.
UT Tyler hosts Schreiner at 3 p.m. Saturday.
