Anaya Tabbed for Men’s Soccer Weekly Honor

RICHARDSON, Texas – Junior Edward Anaya of The University of Texas at Tyler was named as the Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday by the American Southwest Conference.
The Hot Springs, Ark., native scored three goals and had one assist to help his team to a 2-0 record on the week.
Anaya notched the game-winning goal in the Patriots’ 3-0 win over East Texas Baptist on Monday and assisted in the game-winning goal in their 7-1 victory over LeTourneau on Saturday. He also recorded the first goal in each match.
Senior defender Daniel Green of Mary Hardin-Baylor won the week’s defensive award by leading a unit that notched two shutouts on the road.
UT Tyler will return to the pitch on Saturday when they travel to Round Rock to take on Concordia (Tex.) in ASC action at 3 p.m.
