UT Tyler Men Stomp Texas Lutheran

The UT Tyler men's tennis team won all 10 matches it played Friday, defeating Texas Lutheran University 5-0.

The Patriots' Greg Jones and Patrick Butler of UT Tyler defeated TLU's David Wanja and Jeff Wanek in their doubles match, 8-3. Adam Stone and Maciek Hunter (UT Tyler) defeated Rodney Munoz and Adam Cervantez (TLU), 8-5. Kevin Cook and Dallas Long (UT Tyler) defeated John McCullough and Derreck Sledge (TLU), 8-1.

In singles, Jones defeated Munoz, 7-5, 6-0, while Patrick Painter defeated Wanek, 6-3, 6-3. Maciek Hunek defeated Dustin Wyatt, 6-0, 6-2, and Cook defeated Adam Cervantez, 2-6, 6-3, 10-6. Robbie Burdsall defeated Sledge, 4-6, 6-1, 10-8, and Andy White defeated Matt Dupots, 6-1, 6-4.

Greg Jones, Patrick Painter and Adam Stone will advance to the round of 16 in the ITA Tournament and will compete for a quarterfinal berth on Saturday.
