UT Tyler’s Robbins Named ASC Player of the Week

The University of Texas at Tyler men’s soccer player Taylor Robbins has been named co-offensive player of the week in the American Southwest Conference.

Robbins, a sophomore midfielder from Houston, Texas (Klein HS), had a breakout road weekend for UT Tyler, totaling 10 points (4-2-10) in less than 90 minutes of play in two matches.

Robbins scored three goals and an assist in 25 minutes at Concordia-Austin on Friday (Oct. 15), leading the Patriots to a 6-0 win. The next day he scored the game-winning goal at Mary Hardin-Baylor (Oct. 16) and assisted on the third goal while being on the field for 65 minutes. UT Tyler beat Mary Hardin-Baylor 3-0.

UT Tyler is currently 10-2 overall and in third place in the ASC with a 7-2 record.

The Patriots will host Schreiner Saturday at 3 p.m. Their final home game of the season will be Sunday in a 4 p.m. contest against Texas Lutheran.
