Harrington Named ASC East Pitcher of the Week

RICHARDSON, Texas – Freshman Kelsey Harrington (Texarkana, Texas) was named East Division Pitcher of the Week by the American Southwest Conference on Monday afternoon.

Harrington made two appearances on the week, earning a win and a no decision.

In her first game against LeTourneau, Harrington threw UT Tyler softball’s first-ever perfect game. Harrington struck out three batters and allowed no runs off of no hits, with no walks, no hit batters and no wild pitches over five innings.

In her second appearance, Harrington pitched 6.1 innings of what would be a 15-inning game against No. 2 Louisiana College. Harrington allowed just one run off of four hits, while striking out three batters.

Harrington finished the week with a 0.62 ERA and an opponent’s batting average of .118. Harrington now stands at 9-0 on the year.

Harrington and the rest of the Patriots will return to UT Tyler Ballpark on Wednesday, when they host Mississippi College in an ASC East doubleheader at 1 p.m.
