Peters Earns ASC Honors

RICHARDSON, Texas--Senior infielder Lindsey Peters (Shreveport, La.) was named East Division Hitter of the Week for games played February 25 to March 2, 2008 by the American Southwest Conference on Monday evening. Peters is the second UT Tyler softball player in as many weeks to earn the honor.

Peters helped lead the Patriots to a 6-0 record on the week, including three victories over third-ranked Plattsburgh St.

Peters was 13-for-21 on the week, with 10 runs, six RBIs, three doubles two stolen bases and one homerun. Peters finished the week with a .619 batting average, a .905 slugging percentage and a .652 on base percentage.

Peters and the rest of the Patriots will return to action on Friday when they take on Texas Lutheran and Hardin-Simmons in the ASC First Pitch Tournament in Farmer’s Branch, Texas.
