Patriot Softball Remains #1 in Latest Poll

STARKVILLE, Miss.--The University of Texas at Tyler softball team remained in the top spot in the latest Division III Top 25 poll released by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Wednesday afternoon.

The Patriots (20-0) once again received all eight first place votes and were the unanimous choice for No. 1.

The other two American Southwest Conference schools in the poll also gained ground in the new poll. The Patriots’ East Division rival, Louisiana College (19-1), moved from No. 6 to No. 2 in the rankings and trail UT Tyler by 19 points. Mary Hardin-Baylor (15-5) also received a bump in the polls, jumping two spots from 25th to 23rd.

The top-ranked Patriots will return home for the first time in 27 days when they take on Texas-Dallas at the UT Tyler Ballpark on Saturday in an ASC East doubleheader that will start at 1 p.m.
