Six Patriots Earn All-West Region Honors

STARKVILLE, Miss. – Senior Lindsey Peters (Shreveport, La.), junior Megan “Roo” Richardson (Platteville, Colo.) and freshman Sara DeStefano were all named Second Team All-East Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Tuesday. Freshman Kelsey Harrington (Texarkana, Texas) and sophomores Carly Collins (Ennis, Texas) and Amanda Busby (Elysian Fields, Texas) also received All-Region honors with all three being named to the Third Team.

This is the second All-Region honor for Peters and Collins, while this is the first honor for Richardson, DeStefano, Harrington and Busby.

All six Patriots were also honored by the American Southwest Conference on Tuesday, with each girl receiving All-ASC East softball honors.

UT Tyler will play in the program’s first-ever NCAA Tournament game on Thursday. The Patriots will meet the champions of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, LaVerne, at 2 p.m. at the UT Tyler Ballpark.
