Patriot Tennis Sweeps LeTourneau & Concordia

The University of Texas at Tyler men’s and women’s tennis teams each posted wins over LeTourneau and Concordia (Tex.) on Friday at the Summers Tennis Centers. Both teams beat LeTourneau, 8-1, and then shutout Concordia, 9-0.

Each team posted 14 shutout sets over the two matches and won all singles and doubles matches in straight sets. Ryan May(Houston, Texas), Marcus Koenig (Montgomery, Texas), Tripp Farmer (League City, Texas), Ashley Chamblee (Deer Park, Texas), Blair Wilson (Groesbeck, Texas) , Brittany Ude (Corpus Christi, Texas), and Lauren Giovannini (Dallas, Texas) all shutout an opponent during the day.

With the wins, the men improve 12-5 overall and 2-0 in American Southwest play, while the women move 12-2 on the year and 2-0 in conference action.

Both teams return to the Summers Tennis Center tomorrow for double-header. At 9 a.m., the men and the women will face Ozarks in an ASC East match-up. In the nightcap, both teams take on Division I Grambling at 6 p.m.
