Men’s Tennis Duo Advances at Small College Nationals

MOBILE, Ala. – Seniors Brad Fenter (Vernon, Texas) and Nick Kreines (Houston, Texas) of The University of Texas at Tyler men’s tennis team advanced to the quarterfinals of the Division III bracket at the 2009 Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Small College Championships on Wednesday at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center in Mobile.

The Patriot duo defeated Joel Trudel and Justin Peterson of Pacific Lutheran, 6-1, 6-4, in the play-in match between the winners of the Southwest and Pacific Northwest regions. With the win, Fenter and Kreines are now guaranteed at least three matches in Mobile.

The UT Tyler pair will play the first of their three matches on Thursday when they return to the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center to take on Taylor Borda and Josh Rifkin of Ithaca at 3:30 p.m.
