Patriots Volleyball Goes 3-1 at ASC Crossover

The University of Texas at Tyler volleyball team evened their record at 11-11 overall and improved to 7-4 in the American Southwest Conference after going 3-1 at the ASC Crossover Tournament played at Concordia University in Austin Friday and Saturday.

On Friday, UT Tyler lost to Texas Lutheran, 22-30, 16-30, 23-30 before bouncing back to defeat host Concordia, 30-21, 30-24, 23-30, 30-14.

The Patriots opened play on Saturday by beating the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in straight sets, 31-29, 30-22, 30-14 before edging Schreiner in five games, 30-21, 24-30, 20-30, 32-30, 15-6.

The ASC uses the crossover tournaments to allow teams from the east and west divisions of the 16-team league to meet each year.

UT Tyler returns home to face Wiley in a non-conference match Monday at 6 p.m. at the Herrington Patriot Center.
