Lightfoot, Gadison Lead Patriots in Volleyball All-Conference Selections

Senior Amanda Gadison and junior Jessica Lightfoot were named to the All-American Southwest Conference East Division First Team and were among five UT Tyler players earning All-Conference nods, the league office announced today.

In addition, Patriots Megan McCarty, Kelly Roberts and Kristina Sivertson were given honorable mention honors by the ASC's head coaches.

UT Tyler finished its third season of volleyball with a 13-17 overall record and a 10-8 mark in the American Southwest Conference.

Gadison, a middle blocker from Bartlett, Texas, and the Patriot's only senior, led the team in attack percentage (.284) and total blocks (84).

Lightfoot, a junior outside hitter from Scottsdale, Ariz., led the Patriots with 3.6 kills per game and 367 total kills on the season.

A freshman from Kaufman, Texas, McCarty had 98 kills and 304 digs on the season while junior setter Kelly Roberts from Quitman, Texas averaged 3.03 digs per game (306 total) and tied for the team lead in services aces with 24. Sivertson, an outside hitter from Tyler had 59 blocks for the year and 115 kills.
