Metroplex Unfriendly to Patriots Volleyball

RICHARDSON - The UT Tyler volleyball team fell to Texas-Dallas, 3-0, Thursday night in American Southwest Conference action in Richardson.
The Patriots are now 6-12 overall and 2-8 in league play.
UTD had no trouble managing the Patriots, easily winning all three games in a match that lasted just over one hour. The Comets won the fist game, 30-21, game two, 30-18, and the final game, 30-19. UT Tyler was only able to put together 28 kills, while UT Dallas racked up 49 kills as part of a 36-percent attacking effort.
Linsey Schofield led the Patriots with 11 kills and teammate Christy Meredith helped with 15 assists. Megan McCarty had 15 digs.
The Patriots return to their home court Friday, hosting East Texas Baptist at 7 p.m. at the Herrington Patriot Center.
