Patriots Fall to ETBU

UT Tyler dropped an American Southwest Conference volleyball match to East Texas Baptist, 3-0, Friday night at the Herrington Patriot Center, but the Patriots made the Lady Tigers work for the win.
ETBU (16-6, 9-1) dominated the fist game, winning 30-16.
UT Tyler (6-13, 2-9) began to adjust in the second game, matching ETBU kill-for-kill with 13 for each team. The Patriots eventually dropped the game, 30-23.
The final game saw the Patriots hold a lead for the greater part of the time before ETBU was able to put together a late 6-2 run in route to a 33-31 win.
Kelsey Winn had eight kills to lead UT Tyler, followed by Lauren Snook and Chelsey Hannah with seven each. Three Patriots provided double-digit digs, led by 25 from Shedryl Tyler. Megan McCarty had 22 followed by Winn with 15. Linsey Schofield had 17 assists.
UT Tyler will play its final home game of the 2007 season Saturday at 11 a.m. against Mississippi College. Admission to the game will be free as part of Homecoming activities at UT Tyler.
