Volleyball to “Dig For a Cure” on Oct. 25
October 14, 2008
The University of Texas at Tyler volleyball team will “Dig for a Cure” during their Oct. 25 match at home against Mary Hardin-Baylor.
Between now and Oct. 25, members of the UT Tyler volleyball team will be collecting pledges for the number of digs made during the match. All pledges and donations will go directly to the Susan G. Komen For The Cure Foundation. The Komen Foundation helps raise awareness for and fund research in the fight against breast cancer.
All players will wear pink ribbons in their hair and on their shoes to help promote awareness of the disease that will strike an estimated 184,450 women and men in the United States this year alone.
The “Dig for the Cure” match will be held on Saturday the 25th at the Herrington Patriot Center. Start time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
For more information on the event or to make a pledge, contact head coach Kristee Phelps at (903) 565-5603 or at kphelps@uttyler.edu.
