Volleyball Places Four on All-Division Teams

RICHARDSON, Texas – Four members of The University of Texas at Tyler volleyball team received American Southwest Conference East Division recognition on Tuesday when the league released its annual postseason awards.
Sophomore Danika Waldrep (Arlington, Texas), sophomore Amanda Hanson (Spring, Texas) and junior Kelsey Winn (Tyler, Texas) were all named to the All-ASC East second team, while freshman Hillary Taylor (Lewisville, Texas) was named honorable mention.
Waldrep led UT Tyler in service aces on the season with 41 and was second in kills with 245, while Hanson led the team in both total blocks and kills with 83 and 247, respectively.
As a freshman, Taylor averaged 4.32 digs per set to lead the Patriots, while Winn had turned in one of the most well-rounded performances of the year by finishing in the top four on the team in several statistical categories.
The 2009 UT Tyler volleyball team finished in fifth place in the East Division of the American Southwest Conference with a 10-21 overall record and a record of 4-13 in league play.
