Volleyball Patriots Score 3-1 Win Over LeTourneau

The University of Texas at Tyler volleyball team overcame an early deficit en route to a 3-1 victory over LeTourneau in American Southwest Conference action Thursday night at the Herrington Patriot Center.

The Patriots (8-11, 2-7 ASC) dropped the first game to LeTourneau, 25-23, before reeling off 25-20, 25-16, and 25-14 wins.

Sophomore Danika Waldrep (Arlington, Texas) led the Patriots offensively and defensively with 14 kills and 16 digs on the night. Kelsey Winn (JR/Tyler, Texas) added eight kills and ten digs, while junior Whitney Clements (Flint, Texas) paced the team with 30 assists.

With the loss, LeTourneau falls to 4-14 overall and 0-8 in conference plan.

The Patriots return to action Saturday afternoon, hosting Mississippi College at 1 p.m. at the Herrington Patriot Center.
