Volleyball Falls to MC, 3-1

The University of Texas at Tyler fell to Mississippi College, 3-1, in American Southwest Conference volleyball on Saturday afternoon at the Herrington Patriot Center.
Mississippi College (9-8, 3-7 ASC) took the first two sets, 25-18 and 25-22, before UT Tyler responded with a 25-17 win in game three. Helped by a balanced attach from Jessica Torick and Megan Deen, the Lady Choctaws closed out the match with a 25-14 win in the fourth set.
Danika Waldrep posted 15 kills for the Patriots while HIllary Taylor paced the defense with 19 digs. Whitney Clements offered up 23 assists, followed by Cristy Meredith with 18.
The loss drops UT Tyler to 8-12 overall and 2-8 in the ASC. The Patriots will look to get back in the win column next weekend when as they travel to Sul Ross State for the second ASC Crossover Tournament of the season.
Prior to the game, the Patriots celebrated Parents' Day and honored Meredith, the team's lone senior this season.
