Volleyball Falls to UT Dallas in Season Finale

RICHARDSON, Texas - The University of Texas at Tyler volleyball team fell, 3-0, to American Southwest Conference rival No. 11 Texas-Dallas on Saturday in the regular season finale for both teams at the UTD Activity Center in Richardson.

The Patriots had trouble generating offense in the contest and the Comets (23-0, 17-0) took advantage by sweeping UT Tyler, 25-14, 26-24 and 25-19.

Sophomore Danika Waldrep (Arlington, Texas) led the Patriots on both offense and defense in the match with nine kills and 11 digs.

With the loss the Patriots end their 2009 campaign with a 10-21 overall record, a 4-13 mark in the ASC and a fifth place finish in the East Division of the American Southwest Conference.
