MARSHALL, Texas – The University of Texas at Tyler volleyball team lost a tough American Southwest Conference contest to East Texas Baptist on Tuesday night in Marshall by falling in three straight games.
UT Tyler (5-6, 1-2) kept the score of the first game close by playing aggressive volleyball. However, in the final two games the Patriots struggled to find an offensive rhythm and fell, 25-9 and 25-12.
Sophomore Danika Waldrep (Arlington, Texas) led the Patriots in the match with seven kills, while junior Whitney Clement (Flint, Texas) recorded a season and match-high seven service aces.
Defensively, freshman Hillary Taylor (Lewisville, Texas) led the charge by recording 11 digs in the match.
On Friday, the Patriots will return home to the friendly confines of the Herrington Patriot Center to host 14th-ranked Texas-Dallas at 7 p.m.
