Buggs Earns Player of the Week Honors

UT Tyler forward Kasey Buggs earned her second American Southwest Conference East Division player of the week honor after leading the Patriots to two key victories in conference play last week.

The senior, a Lake Dallas, Texas native, averaged 25.5 points and nine rebounds to pace the wins over UT Dallas and Ozarks that kept the Patriots (14-7, 11-5 ASC) atop the ASC East standings.

Buggs also averaged 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals while shooting 57.1 percent from the floor on the week. She had a double-double of 26 points and 11 boards in the come-from-behind win against UT Dallas.

UT Tyler plays at LeTourneau Thursday night before returning to the Herrington Patriot Center Saturday for a 1 p.m. game against East Texas Baptist.
