Trogus Nabs ASC Honor

UT Tyler freshman Marci Trogus was named the American Southwest Conference East Division Player of the Week after helping the Patriots pickup two key wins last week.

Trogus, a forward from Houston, Texas, averaged a double-double for the week with 11.5 points and 10.5 rebounds over two wins that kept the Patriots in first place in the ASC East.

Trogus, who was 9 of 10 from the free-throw line, added a combined six assists, three steals and a block against LeTourneau and East Texas Baptist.

For the year, Trogus is averaging 11.6 points per game and leads the Patriots with a 82.9 free-throw percentage.

With a 7-5 ASC East record, the Patriots currently lead the Division.  UT Tyler will play at UT Dallas on Monday before returning to the Herrington Patriot Center on Thursday for a 5:30 p.m. game against Ozarks.
