Women's Basketball's Taylor Honored for Second Time by ASC

RICHARDSON, Texas – Junior Becky Taylor of The University of Texas at Tyler women’s basketball team was named East Division Player of the Week by the American Southwest Conference for the second time this season on Monday.

The forward from Bullard averaged 19.5 points and 18.5 rebounds, including pulling down 21 boards on Saturday at LeTourneau, as the Patriots went 2-0 on the week.

Taylor has recorded 17 double-doubles in 19 games this season and currently leads the ASC in rebounding with 13.6 rebounds per game and is second in scoring with 17.1 points per game. Taylor ranks sixth among all Division III players in rebounding, as well.

UT Tyler will return to the Herrington Patriot Center for its final two home games of the 2008-2009 season. The Patriots will host East Texas Baptist on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and LeTourneau on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
