CLARKSVILLE, Ark. – The University of Texas at Tyler women’s basketball team had little problems with Ozarks on Saturday afternoon, as the Patriots rolled to an 89-59 American Southwest Conference victory at the Mabee Gymnasium in Clarksville.

UT Tyler (15-8, 12-6) opened the game on an 11-0 run and never looked back. After that point, the Patriots never led by less than seven points and led by double digits for the entire second half.

The Patriots shot over 50 percent from the floor on the day and 80 percent from the free throw line. UT Tyler also out-rebounded Ozarks (5-18, 3-15) by an astonishing 46-to-28 margin in the contest.

Sophomore Lindsay Eaton (Austin, Texas) led all players with 21 points in the game. Eaton also had 11 rebounds and was one of two UT Tyler players to notch a double-double on the afternoon.

Junior Becky Taylor (Bullard, Texas) had the other double-double for the Patriots, scoring 20 points and pulling down a game-high 13 rebounds. Taylor now has 20 double-doubles on the season over 23 games.

Sophomore Marci Trogus (Houston, Texas) scored 16 points, while freshman Lindsay Hausmann (Austin, Texas) had 12 to round out the four Patriots in double-digits.

Freshman Sabrina Goodard (Stroud, Okla.) came off the bench to lead Ozarks with 12 points.

UT Tyler will now head into the final week of the regular-season in third place in the ASC East. The Patriots will travel to Pineville on Thursday to take on 4th-place Louisiana College and to Clinton on Saturday to take on 2nd-place Mississippi College.

Game time on Thursday versus Louisiana is at 5:30 p.m., while Saturday’s game at Mississippi is set for a 1 p.m. tip-off.
