Women's Basketball Snaps Skid With Win Over Ozarks

The University of Texas at Tyler women’s basketball team put an end to its three-game losing streak by topping Ozarks, 88-74, on Saturday afternoon at the Herrington Patriot Center.
The Lady Eagles (5-12, 3-9) led just once in the early in the game and despite a tie midway through the first half, trailed UT Tyler for the remainder of the contest.
For the first time this season, the Patriots (10-7, 7-5) had all five starter score in double figures.
Junior Becky Taylor (Bullard, Texas) led all players with a career-high 22 points, to go along with 15 rebounds for her 15th double-double of the year.
Following Taylor was sophomore Lindsay Eaton (Austin, Texas) with 17 points, sophomore Melissa Thomas (Austin, Texas) and freshman Lindsay Hausmann (Austin, Texas) with 14 points each and rounding out the scoring leaders for UT Tyler was sophomore Marci Trogus (Houston, Texas), who had 11.
Freshman April Young (Deer, Ark.) came off the bench to lead Ozarks with 14 points.
The Patriots will now travel to Marshall on Thursday where they will take on East Texas Baptist at 5:30 p.m.
