A balanced offensive effort helped The University of Texas at Tyler women’s basketball team score a 79-54 win over Concordia on Sunday afternoon at the Herrington Patriot Center.
Four Patriots scored in double figures, with the duo of Paige Parrish and Lindsay Hausmann contributing 13 each. Kristi Wallace added another 12 points and Afritina Anderson had 11.
On the boards, UT Tyler (7-4, 5-1) dominated, pulling down 61 total rebounds to just 35 for Concordia. Lauren Glasco grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds while Anderson contributed nine more.
The Patriots took a 38-26 lead into halftime and the 12-point margin was the largest of the half for UT Tyler as a determined Concordia (5-5, 3-3) squad got as close as six with 2:03 remaining.
An 11-2 run by UT Tyler to start the second half, including back-to-back jumpers by Parrish and Anderson, helped the Patriots cruise for most of the second half.
Hausmann finished the night with eight assists for the Patriots and Cookie Domino had a game-high five steals.
Kerrie Carter had 13 points to lead Concordia.
UT Tyler hits the road for the next three weeks, traveling first to Howard Payne on Thursday.
