Women’s Soccer Closes Regular Season With Win

The University of Texas at Tyler women’s soccer team posted its 11th shutout of the season by blanking Ozarks (8-11, 6-7 ASC), 3-0, on Saturday at the Citizen’s 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex.

The Patriots finish the regular season at 13-3-1 overall and 10-3 in the American Southwest Conference, setting a program record for most regular season wins. More>>

Second Half Goals Sink Women’s Soccer

The University of Texas at Tyler women’s soccer team (12-3-1, 9-3 ASC) allowed two second half goals that lifted Texas-Dallas past the Patriots, 2-1, in Thursday’s pivotal American Southwest Conference match-up at the Citizens 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex.

The win ties UT Dallas (12-3-3, 10-1-1 ASC) with Hardin-Simmons for first place in the ASC standings, while the Patriots stay tied at third. More>>

Soccer’s McAlpine, Buchanan Receive CoSIDA Honors

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Seniors Adam McAlpine and Kelly Buchanan of The University of Texas at Tyler soccer teams were each named to their respective ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District teams by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Thursday.

The award recognizes those student-athletes who not only excel on the field, but in the classroom as well. Nominees must play in at least 50 percent of their team’s games and carry at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average. More>>

RICHARDSON, Texas – Senior Kelly Buchanan (Houston, Texas) of The University of Texas at Tyler Women’s Soccer team was named Defensive Player of the Week by the American Southwest Conference on Monday.

Buchanan helped lead a defensive unit that posted two shutouts over both East Texas Baptist and LeTourneau on the week. The UT Tyler defense has allowed just two goals in the past seven games and only eight thus far in the season. More>>>

LONGVIEW, Texas – The University of Texas at Tyler women’s soccer team shut out LeTourneau, 5-0, Saturday evening in Longview. The Patriots (11-2-1, 8-2 ASC) have outscored their opponents 36-2 during the seven game win streak.

The Patriots (10-2-1, 7-2 ASC) took control of the game early and cruised past the Tigers (4-8, 4-4 ASC) for their sixth straight win.

Senior Kelly Buchanan (Houston, Texas) started the scoring for the Patriots when she received a pass from sophomore Taylor Estes (Henderson, Texas) and ripped the ball far post for her third goal of the season and the 1-0 lead. More>>>

Patriots Battle Trinity to 2-2 Tie in Women's Soccer

In a game full of firsts, The University of Texas at Tyler tied No. 21 Trinity (Tex.), 2-2, in the Patriots’ home opener Friday night in front of almost 400 fans at the Citizens 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex.

The tie was the best result against the Tigers in UT Tyler history. The two goals for the Patriots were also the first goals against Trinity, having been shutout in previous matchups against the perennial power. More>>
